I want to highlight a couple of churches that have REALLY cool and beautiful worship spaces, that are a more traditional smaller, longer room with vaulted ceilings, lots of wood accents, and warm lighting.  The two churches are First United Methodist of  Mansfield, TX and Pinedale Christian Church of Winston-Salem, NC.  Both churches have a [...]

The Planet Wisdom tour just kicked back in full-swing in Minnesota this past weekend; and wow!  What a fun, engaging, and powerful weekend.  Mark Matlock, The Skit Guys, Dutton, and special guest Dawson McAllister were there to teach, engage, and lead worship for a couple thousand students. (Fun back story:  Dawson McAllister was the founder [...]

I just saw this on www.JimOnLight.com.
Hitachi has developed a film “that can be added to windows and other light transmitting surfaces that allows light to be transmitted when voltage is applied to the film.”
No voltage; and very little light passes through.  Apply voltage, crazy stuff happens in the ‘film’, and all of the sudden light [...]

I recently travelled down again to Kingwood Bible Church just outside Houston, Texas to finalize their Environmental Projection system.  Shepherd Multimedia installed the system, and I came in to provide training on the philosophy and heart behind using the new visual tool, as well as on ProVideoPlayer.  I ran through some sample content I had [...]

I wanted to highlight a company that just stands out to me in the church world of A/V design and integration.  Church Solutions Group are the ones who implemented the Environmental Projection system at Houston’s First Baptist Church, as well as much more during the church’s remodel.
They have a great team that dives into the [...]

Ok. Watch this: http://www.spotlesslight.com/spotlesslights/
Technology that tracks a subject and only projects on that subject, without spillover*.  (They put the asterisk on their site, so I figured I should to.)
Woohoo!  So this is visual pixel mapping…live and dynamic.  Think about this for Environmental Projection.

It’s so interesting…we’re bringing visual worship OUTSIDE the walls of the church again.  That’s HUGE!!!  FBC Coppell faces a main street coming into the city, and who knows how many people pass it throughout the evening/night.  It’s just such an amazing opportunity…
On the final night of the experience; I switched the music from MuteMath and [...]

VJ projection party…Why in the world  did I do this?  Cause I can! And it’s cool!  I mean, why not?
I’ll be doing the same thing the next two nights, on the front of First Baptist Church of Coppell, TX.  Stop on by…we had about 20 people brave the cold wind and come out to see [...]

Innovation3, put on by Leadership Network, was held last week at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship.  DJ Chuang had asked me a while back if I was interested in doing Environmental Projection for the event.  Ummm…YES!

Bent Tree has a cool sanctuary!  The stage was huge; so we had some options on how to do Environmental Projection behind [...]

I would like to go into a church using some (or all) types of technology/media (IMAG, dynamic/theatrical lighting, video loops/countdowns/announcements, audio systems..etc.) and just start turning it off.
What would happen if we took away/turned off one type of technology that we use during worship, and didn’t use it for a month?
What would we miss?  Would we miss anything at [...]
