I just saw this on www.JimOnLight.com.
Hitachi has developed a film “that can be added to windows and other light transmitting surfaces that allows light to be transmitted when voltage is applied to the film.”
No voltage; and very little light passes through. Apply voltage, crazy stuff happens in the ‘film’, and all of the sudden light passes through it. Awesome!!
Imagine being in a board room meeting – you push a button and the windows fade. Or a church setting! Cover your stained glass with this, and have the ability to still see the beauty, but control the amount of lighting coming in. Can’t wait to see this! More info HERE.

There is a church where I live that is already using this (or something like this). The back wall of the platform is glass (~50 – 100 feet high).
That’s so cool. It would be even cooler if you could somehow apply voltage to certain parts of the glass and not to others… like pixels on a computer screen
@Mike: Do you know what church?
@Dan: Yeah it would!! I’m sure that’s coming soon…then I’m going to add windows to my available surfaces.
Pinnacle Hills Church, Rogers AR
that looks so awesome. I’ll keep an eye out for this stuff
