Moving Beyond Irving Bible Church…

After 7 years on full-time staff (to the day); I’m finally taking the leap of faith and ready to explore what God has for me beyond Irving Bible Church. I remember showing up to work my first Sunday there – I didn’t even have my driver’s license yet. My last day at Irving Bible Church will be January 15th.
The journey has been longer than just 7 years; I’ve literally grown up in Irving Bible Church starting in 2nd grade, and have seen and experienced many changes.
Irving Bible Church has been an incredible blessing to be a part of. I have loved being part of such a loving and fun staff, and being able to watch the ministries grow inside, and outside the walls of the church.
I am thankful for each and every person who has believed in me, let me mess up, and let me dream and play while pursing my passion. I firmly believe I was at Irving Bible Church for a reason; and that was to reignite something in the Church that’s been overlooked, and even forgotten for a long time. However, lately I’ve realized that it’s much bigger than just one church, and so over the last 6 months, I’ve been praying and searching for what God had next.
Now it’s time to share that passion on a much larger scale.
There are some very exciting things happening with Visual Worshiper that are way bigger than I could have ever imagined a year ago. A few other fellow visual worship artists from around the country and myself are venturing into a room in the Church that’s still largely unexplored. God has shown us a door and we are boldly, yet humbly pursuing what He has planned.
Visual Worshiper is going to be something that is broader than I ever dreamed of and, I believe, is going to have much more Kingdom impact within the Church.
I am still going to be doing freelance lighting and projection/video shows for camps, churches, schools, and conferences, as well as installs and what else comes my way that helps stretch/support me and further the Kingdom.
The greatest thing about pursing something like this is hearing God saying ‘It’s time for the next step’, and me trusting fully in that. No job offers, no guarantees.
This is a first for me and my structured and planned personality, and I love it. God is prompting and I know He will provide. I can’t wait to see what happens…
But I do have plenty of PB&J just in case.

Camron, I remember you doing sound for my band back in High-school (The Unusuals), then, when I came to work for IBC a couple years ago, always seeing you around and giving me a hand with anything I needed.
Needless to say, I’m very excited to see the future of Visual Worshiper and what God has in store for you. I know you will be blessed and be a blessing to others with this amazing ministry.
Let me know if I do anything for you, blessings to ya brotha.
Hey Man, I’m so pumped for you! I’ll be praying for you as you start this next chapter…it’s so exciting to see where the road goes from here! I know how hard it is to step out in faith, but I know too, how richly rewarding it is when you do. I know IBC will miss you, but your legacy will live on!I know that God has HUGE things for you and your ministry. You’ve blessed (and inspired) me greatly and for that I say thanks!
Crazy news. Congrats…If there is anyway I can help let me know. Other then that-I’ll be praying for you and your new journey!
Shalom
What an awesome, scary, wide open place it is to be on the very edge of God’s movement in your life. It’s unnerving to work with out a net that you can see, but He’ll never let you fall from anywhere that He can’t catch you from.
Looking forward to seeing future posts on what God is working in and through you !
OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS!
)
I’m excited as all get out for you, friend! I can’t wait to see what God’s going to do in and through you! You’re a blessing to us all, Cam, and surely many many more will be able to share in that through whatever is coming up. This is so fast! I’m definitely praying for you, and secretly hoping you don’t move far far away.
Haven’t known you too long, but I know God has a lot planned for you. He’s already showing you that and it’s wonderful. Lookin’ forward to seeing the future of this site and more from your ministry.
I have a feeling you’ll do incredible things. I’ve followed your blog for only a short time, but have found it beautiful and inspiring. I pray much success for you and look forward to all of your future posts!
Congrats on your decision! Welcome to the unknown– it’s awesome! I stepped away from full time job security 2 1/2 years ago and it has turned out to be the best thing I ever did! It won’t always be easy, but you’ll love it! Can’t wait to see what happens!
where’s my freakin’ alligator t-shirt…. does family count for nothing?
Camron,
Welcome to the dark side:)
I have owned a technology business for 25 years this year. Entering the “for profit” realm can cause mixed feelings and some confusion, especially when you want to help people worship. I have struggled with is for quite some time.
What I am finding is my gifts from God have brought me into the world with architects, construction workers, fellow technical people at trade shows…. What a great opportunity to venture outside the walls you paint with visuals and show the world HIS creativity. Share HIS creativity, demonstrate integrity, and be a light (as you paint with it).
I have no doubt you will do great! I look forward to working with you.
Hey man I’m excited for you. Can’t wait to see how God is going to continue to use you to change how places of worship engage people in worshipping Him!
dude.
what the heck?!
that’s exciting, but I wasn’t even there to see you off. Jeez. I know you’ll do great in whatever it is your heading off to do, just don’t leave me hanging like that again! haha, love ya brother. I’ll be praying for you.
@Jonathan
Thanks bro; yeah it’s been exciting! I promise I’ll tell you sooner next time.
