Visual Worship Breakout @ ECHO Conference 2008
6 Comments Published by Camron Ware - Visual Worshiper August 16th, 2008 in Visual WorshipWhew. I feel like a can finally breathe normal again. Having to speak in public has always been my biggest fear. (Remember I am supposed to be in the back of a room behind a console or three.)
It’s no coincidence that I read Mark Batterson’s (who was the first keynote) In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day a week before the conference weekend. God has taken what I love to do, and used it to help me get over what I fear to do. This was my lion at this time in my life.
God is so good. The breakout at the ECHO Conference went fantastic. 150 people were engaged and, I hope, inspired to return to their church community and implement some new ways of thinking when it comes to using visual tools. I actually ran out of time!
I want to recognize www.awakeimages.com and www.shiftworship.com. I couldn’t do what I do, if they didn’t do what they do.
I can’t wait until ECHO next year! So many great speakers and breakouts…the guys at Watermark are fantastic, the designers are amazing. I am inspired and encouraged, and for those of you who went; dive in and try it. For those of you that couldn’t make it; be sure to come next year. You will be blessed…so you may bless others.

I use to do some acting in High School and in College . . . but I decided that I like the ‘behind the scenes’ work more. Getting up on stage and playing someone else with your lines memorized is one thing . . . but getting up in front of people as yourself and just talking form notes . . . I always forget what I was about to say.
Good for you ! I hope I don’t have to chase the lion down into that particular pit in the near future ! Any other pit God . . . any other one !
I looked into the ECHO conference, we just couldn’t afford to send me this year. Do you know if they recorded it to make the DVD’s available for sale later ?
I hear ya man, it was quite a different experience for me. But, I quickly realized that talking about what I’m so passionate about is actually really fun.
I know they are making audio available from breakouts, and keynotes *might* have video too, but not sure yet.
Woot !
Pastor wants to start getting ideas to ‘take worship to the next level’ . . . and that means that I need to get some good teaching to help us think outside of the box.
Man you were awesome! First thing I did when I returned to Little Rock was play with the projector during the run through!
“Hey Geo, what are you doing?”
“Gimme a minute….” click click clikk…slide and flip
“WHOA!!!!! That looks so cool! Did you learn that in Dallas?”
“Yep!”
What was the thing (small black box) you were talking about that you paid about 150 bucks for?
Thanks again for speaking Saturday!
Geo.
So great! Do you have any pics? I would love to see how it looks in your space!
And the little black box is from Matrox. They have two versions: the Triple-Head-2Go and the Dual-Head-2Go. (In both VGA and DVI)
