I’ve had a lot of questions recently about the Matrox TripleHead-2Go and DualHead; about where I got it and what it does.
I got mine on eBay for a great deal, new and unopened. Normally though, you see them for $300 or so.
This little gem is an external box that tricks your computer in a way to thinking you have a triple (or double) wide second desktop. So, instead of a 800×600 desktop going to the projector, you have 2400×600 (or higher) Now, if you have use this with 3 projectors, the Matrox box will split up the image across all three projectors. Pretty cool.
Here is Matrox’s site. They list out in detail all the resolutions available. They have two versions of each box (Triple and Dual). Each model can be either “analog” (VGA) or “digital” (DVI). The DVI versions can display higher resolutions.
The guys at Renewed Vision have a cool module for ProPresenter where you can place lyrics on any of the three screens, and won’t stretch when you use the Matrox box.
It works with any other presentation software though, but it will stretch anything that’s not in the native resolution of the second desktop, including text. (I’ve used it with SundayPlus, EasyWorship, and MediaShout)
This is a pretty great idea if you’re thinking of doing architectural projection, or want to have surround gaming. 
I actually just finished moving our young adults room from Easy Worship to ProPresenter with a tripple head to go. They have 3 screns in there. We were using 2 PCs running Easy Worship with a Kramer DA that paired perfectly with 2 Kramer VP719 switchers. 1 switcher controlled in center screen and the other one controlled the outside screen.
We thought about using a combo of ProPresenter and ProVideoPlayer like we do in our sanctuary but when we found out about ProPresenter’s support for the triple head to go we jumped on it.

So can you tell Media Shout that the resolution is twice as large on the second screen or will it stretch it ?
If you want to do two different immages (maybe the same image mirrored around the center) . . . can you put two different immages in Media Shout or Pro Presenter so that it comes out correctally from the box ?
Well if you give MediaShout a 2400×600 image, it will display across all three projectors correctly. If you give MediaShout a 800×600 image, I believe it stretches it. I could wrong though; it might just display in the center, correctly (not stretched). I just can’t remember; I can hook it up and try if you need me to.
And yes, but you would have to create a single image out of your two seperate images. So let’s say you have a picture of a cross on the left side of the image (800×600) projecting on the left screen, and you want to flip it so the cross is on the right on the right screen. You would have to go into Photoshop and make the two images into one. (1600×600) Then when you put that single wide image into your software, and when using a DualHead (in this case), the image will appear to be split.

I see, I got ya now. No need to open Media Shout and see, I have Photoshop and can easily make a new image mirrored around the center.

Great Job at Echo Camron. Question about Dual and Triple. The church may have to start with two projectors and add a third projector down the road. Can you buy a Triple head and only use two projectors? and still split the imagine between the two projectors and add a third projector later?

We have two projectors behind the band on the chancel and one plasma in the back of the sanctuary for the singers. They all run off the same feed from one computer. Is it possible to do a split screen using Media Shout 3.5 with a video running on half the screen and the lyrics on the other half?
Sorry, I should say we have two projectors that project onto screens that are behind the band on the chancel.
@David: Hmm..sort of – but you might want to look into the “stage display” that MediaShout and ProPresenter have. It’s VGA over USB, and just displays the lyrics for your plasma. (ProPresenter also offers timers..messages..etc.)
